How expensive is Thailand?

(This post contains affiliate links, for more information read this  privacy policy ) Thinking about traveling to Thailand but not sure how much money you should save up in advance? Last July I spend a month in Thailand and since I always like to have an overview on how much money I spend, I wrote down all my daily expenses, also to be able to give you an idea on what costs you could encounter when going to Thailand. To summarise: How expensive is Thailand? The amount of money spent while traveling to Thailand will therefore not only depend on your choices of accommodation or your general way of living but also where you will in the country most of your time.  While I always try to stay within my budget and travel as cheap as possible, I do sometimes like to go for a less chea...

Month 51: Travel Summary and Statistics

Image
What an amazing, wonderful, perfect month! And can I just say how great it feels to open a monthly summary with that line? Things are going so well right now! I kicked off the month at home in the UK, doing much the same as the previous month: spending time with family and nursing myself back to health. Even though I know people who name Bangkok as one of their favorite cities in the world, I purposefully didn't plan to spend a whole lot of time there. After being overwhelmed by the amount of people in Hong Kong and the amount of motorbikes in Hanoi, I was perfectly happy to limit my time in Bangkok to just 2 nights — essentially leaving me with just a little more than 24 hours in the Thai capital. So what does one do with 24 hours in Bangkok? Well here are my suggestions for a weekend visit: Morning GRAND PALACE The Grand Palace, located in the heart of Bangkok along the Chao Phraya River, is one of the city's top tourist attractions — and for good reason. The complex is also home to  Wat P...
